All six episodes of the British Channel 4 drama set in the fictional Yorkshire mill town of Ackley Bridge. When budget cuts force two local comprehensive schools to merge the staff and students of the previously segregated white and Asian communities are forced to come together, with new headmistress Mandy Carter (Jo Joyner) presiding over the transition. However, not all of the staff and students are as keen on the idea of forced integration as cultural differences spark clashes and old friendships are tested.
