Addams Family Values DVD

| DVD

This slightly more cohesive follow-up to The Addams Family has the same director, Barry Sonnenfeld (Men in Black), but a better story line. Joan Cusack plays a busty gold digger who ingratiates herself into the Addams home and convinces Uncle Fester (Christopher Lloyd) that she wants to marry him. Besides Lloyd, the cast includes Anjelica Huston and Raul Julia, ideal as those Brontëan lovers, Morticia and Gomez. But Christina Ricci again walks away with the best moments as the chilly Wednesday Addams, making life miserable for two camp counsellors (Peter MacNicol and... Christine Baranski) who want her to fit in with other kids. --Tom Keogh, Amazon.com [show more]

Morticia and Gomez Addams (Anjelica Huston and Raul Julia) couldn't be more pleased with the newest additions to the family, mustachioed baby Pubert and perky nanny Debbie (Joan Cusack). Less pleased are siblings (and rivals) Wednesday (Christina Ricci) and Pugsley (Jimmy Workman), who want to rid themselves of the infant usurper while investigating the truth behind Debbie's exterior. Before the children can prove that Debbie is a homicidal maniac called the Black Widow--out to add Uncle Fester (Christopher Lloyd) to her collection of corpses--they are banished to summer camp. Can the Addams family survive the murderess and Kumbaya? This sequel to 'The Addams Family' sees Gomez (Raul Julia) and Morticia (Anjelica Huston) producing a third child - Pubert. Siblings Wednesday (Christina Ricci) and Pugsley are jealous, so the doting parents appoint a nanny to keep order. The person chosen is Debbie Jelinsky (Joan Cusack), who soon sets her cap at Uncle Fester (Christopher Lloyd). Little do the Addamses realise that Debbie is in fact a serial killer, only interested in getting her hands on Fester's fortune. To this end, Debbie arranges the worst fate possible for the already suspicious Wednesday and Pugsley: summer camp.
