An Audience With Joan Rivers DVD

| DVD

Outrageous, shocking, controversial and wickedly funny, the 'acid queen of stand-up' Joan Rivers hosts an hour of typically racy and waspish humour. Pausing only to savour the sound of jaws hitting the ground, the Daytime Emmy Award winner's legendary ability to make people laugh in spite of themselves including herself has made her one of the world's most loved and acclaimed stand-up comedians, and her unique talent is clearly on display in this hysterically funny show first transmitted as part of ITV's celebrated An Audience with... strand.

The US comedienne performs before a celebrity crowd as part of ITV's initial 'An Audience With' series in 1984. Rivers has enjoyed a long and successful career in the entertainment industry. She has appeared in a number of films, including 'The Muppets Take Manhattan' (1984), hosted her own talk show on US TV and won a Daytime Emmy Award for her work as a comedian. She has a reputation as a controversial figure who isn't afraid to point out uncomfortable truths and who particularly delights in making fun of Hollywood and celebrities. All of this made her an ideal candidate for the ITV series where performers take to the stage in front of a crowd of their peers to entertain and engage in lighthearted banter.
