Feelgood romantic comedy drama centred on the friendship between an Orthodox Jewish woman and a Muslim woman. Nasira (Frances Benhamou) and Rochel (Zoe Lister Jones) meet as first-year teachers at a multicultural Brooklyn high school. Over the course of the year, they find that despite their religious differences they have much in common, not least of which being that they both face impending arranged marriages. As they face a plethora of ill-suited suitors, religious doubts and an ongoing culture clash with their colleagues in the staff room, the women's bond grows stronger, bridging the historical divide between Judaism and Islam with warmth and humanity.
