Japanese anime based on the comic by Osamu Tezuka which was developed into a television series in the 1960s and '70s and again in 2004. The show is set in the year 2030 and follows the life of a young robot called Astro Boy. After being abandoned by his creator, he is adopted by Dr Elefun, who shows him how to take control of his powers and put them to good use by fighting against the evil forces of the world.
