John Sturges' 1956 western sees Jim Slater (Richard Widmark) searching for the sole survivor from the Apache ambush at Gila Valley, in which his father died. On his travels, he comes across Karyl Orton (Donna Reed) who is also looking for answers into the disappearance of her husband. However, complications occur as they find themselves in danger in the Arizona desert.
