Pierce Brosnan and Melissa George star in this two-part TV drama based on Stephen King's novel. Mike Noonan (Brosnan) is a successful author who is struggling to write his latest book following the death of his wife, Jo (Annabeth Gish). He retreats to their lake house in Maine where he meets young widow Mattie (George) and her daughter Kyra (Caitlin Carmichael), whose wealthy grandfather Max (William Schallert) is seeking custody of the girl. While Mike tries to help Mattie in her legal battle, disturbing events take place in the town and he realises that it is plagued by a curse that can be traced back to his house. Assisted by his wife's spirit, Mike attempts to put an end to the curse before more lives can be taken.
