Controversial biopic of Phoolan Devi, India's 'Bandit Qeen'. Sold into marriage aged eleven, Devi (Seema Biswas) escapes after being raped by her husband. She returns to her family only to be rejected and captured by a local gang of bandits. Raped again, Phoolan is rescued by one of the bandits, Vikram (Govind Namdeo), with whom she falls in love. When he is killed, she becomes the bandit chief, wreaking terrible revenge on all who have previously maligned her because of her caste and sex.
