Documentary about the 1940 aerial assault on the British mainland by Hitler's Luftwaffe. After the fall of France asserted Hitler's authority throughout most of central Europe, Nazi Germany expected Britain to negotiate an armistice, but led by Winston Churchill the British people and military were unwilling to give in to European fascism. In an attempt to undermine Britain's military capability Hitler began his aerial assault on the nation's defences and aircraft factories, but faced stern resistance from the RAF.
