Australian WWI drama based on the true story of a frontline campaign that took place in Belgium in 1917. Brendan Cowell stars as Oliver Woodward, an Australian metal scientist who is forced to tear himself from his new love when he is sent to the mud and carnage of the Western Front. Thirty metres underneath the German front, Woodward and his secret platoon of Australian miners work in claustrophobic subterranean conditions to create tunnels packed with high explosives in an ambitious attempt to destroy the German army from below.
