Parvati (Durga Khote) loses her husband but what makes her pain bearable is her beloved son Sudhakar (Jeetendra). But very soon she is separated from him too when he leaves to study in the city where he falls in love with Padma (Leena Chandavarkar) the daughter of the city's wealthiest businessman Seth Dharamdas (Madan Puri). Padma reciprocates but her father objects to the match. So the couple get married and run away to Sudhakar's village. Parvati is overjoyed to get her son back
