Controversial reality series which explores the day-to-day lives and traditions of various Roma gypsies and Irish travellers living in the UK. The show, first aired on Channel 4, follows young men and women as they and their families prepare for upcoming nuptials: lavish ceremonies in which the dress often weighs twice as much as the bride. The programme also investigates other practices said to be commonplace in the travelling community, such as teenage marriage, bare-knuckle fighting and the now infamous courting ritual of 'grabbing', in which young men have been reported to forcefully pursue young women for a kiss.
