Robert Askew (Bruce Jones) travels to Blackpool to prepare an extraordinary end to his ordinary life. But this is no typical weekend and a succession of magical events conspire to turn a journey of despair into a voyage of discovery. Bob Askew's life isn't going the way he planned it, and after a particularly rough day at the office, he decides to travel to Blackpool and end it all with a leap off the pier. But psychology student Angela has other ideas. She drags Bob from the end of the pier, whisks him away and introduces him to a host of amazing characters who, one by one, rekindle his love of life.
