Brian Pern: A Life in Rock' is a British comedy documentary following ageing rock star Brian Pern, former front-man of the legendary 1970s progressive rock group Thotch. All nine episodes from the first three series of the BBC mockumentary that follows ageing rock star Brian Pern (Simon Day) of the fictional 1970s progressive rock band Thotch. The first series, 'The Life of Rock With Brian Pern', follows Brian as he examines some aspects of the history of rock and roll such as why bands break up, the influence of drink and drugs and the origins of the genre. In the second series, 'A Life in Rock', Brian reunites with his former Thotch bandmates, records a Christmas charity single and prepares to launch his solo album. In the third series, '45 Years of Prog and Roll', the members of Thotch are forced to reunite once again after they are sued by their former manager and Brian looks back on his success in the US.
