Gritty and violent cult classic from director Sam Peckinpah in which wealthy Mexican El Jefe (Emilio Fernandez) offers a $1 million reward to anyone who can bring him the head of the man who seduced his daughter. But with the culprit already dead and buried, bartender Bennie (Warren Oates) is charged with delivering the head by two of El Jefe's enforcers, and sets off to find the corpse. Teaming up with Garcia's ex-girlfriend Elita (Isela Vega) who knows where the body lies, Bennie foresees easy pickings ahead. Unfortunately, however, a rival group of bounty hunters are rapidly closing in on the graveyard, bristling with weapons, and intent on eradicating any problems that get in their way.
