Cape No. 7 is the story of Aga (Van Fan) a rock musician who returns home to a small seaside town in Taiwan after failing to break through in Taipei. Stripped of confidence and purpose he grudgingly takes to the road as a local postman and in the process unexpectedly discovers a pack of undelivered letters from 1945 addressed to a resident at the long forgotten Cape No 7. As Aga begins to unravel the mystery of the letters he is forced to face his fears by returning to the stage as the band leader in a local warm up act for a visiting rock star.
