Yuppie executive Martin Harvey (Martin Short) decides to take his family on an ocean adventure after inheriting a Caribbean yacht. The only problem is that the vessel comes complete with Captain Ron (Kurt Russell), the anarchic skipper who looks set to turn Martin into a nervous wreck. Nevertheless, despite frequently getting lost at sea, Ron soon proves a big hit with the rest of the family.
