To be honest life sucks for Gemma Perkins (Connie Fisher - How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?). She's in her twenties and is still living at home with her over-bearing stepmother Joyce and her down trodden father Brian. The only boy interested in her is timid neighbour Marcus and she has a low paid job emptying car park meters of pound coins for her local council. She is bullied at work has few friends and fewer chances to make any. Gemma takes solace in her secret passion - Elvis Presley. Elvis has never let her down. When he sings it's as though he understands... her like no one else can. She plays his records watches his films and knows everything about his music and his life. When Gemma accidentally discovers how easy it is to spend some of the car parking meter money and it not be noticed by her council colleagues it quickly becomes addictive. What starts out as comfort spending - glasses for her father donations to charity - soon becomes bigger bolder and more obsessive. Gemma starts buying Elvis Presley memorabilia - small things at first - a record here a pack of cards there - and it makes her happy just to own it. Purchases are getting bigger and more expensive and if she doesn't reign in her spending habits she's going to get caught. Inspired by a true crime Caught In A Trap also stars Geraldine James (Little Britain Kavanagh QC) Jim Carter (The Golden Compass Cranford) Joe Absolom (Doc Martin Vincent) and Paul Barber (Only Fools and Horses The Full Monty). The soundtrack is packed full of all of Elvis' greatest tracks. Add into the mix a brilliant script and great production values from the Producers of Foyle's War plus Connie Fisher's TV drama debut and this DVD becomes even more collectable. [show more]
