Richard Todd stars as Ward Prescott, a man who turns up at the Costa Brava house of an heiress (Anne Baxter), whose father has recently committed suicide and whose brother was seemingly killed in an accident. Prescott claims to be her dead brother but she is not convinced, despite all the evidence confirming his claim, her uncle recognising him, and the local police chief dismissing her. Is she lying or are the rest of the players?
