British coming-of-age drama. When 16-year-old best friends Malachy (Rupert Grint) and Luke (Robert Sheehan) meet Michelle (Kimberley Nixon), the daughter of Malachy's boss Dave Crilly (James Nesbitt), they fall over themselves to compete for her affections through escalating acts of vandalism, violence, drug-taking and car theft. As 'good boy' Malachy falls deeply in love with Michelle, he puts his stable family life, job and academic future on the line as he becomes caught up in his increasingly dangerous competition with Luke, who - with far less to lose - can afford to push things further.
