Magical realism meets psychological drama in this exploration of the contemporary immigrant experience in America, written and directed by Steve Barron. Jorge (Octavio Gomez Berrios) is a morbidly shy Ecuadorian dishwasher working in a shabby Queens diner run by Rick (Mandy Patinkin) who forms a silent and tentative bond with newly-hired Chinese waitress Amy (Eugenia Yuan).
