An attempt to compensate for the Earth being affected by global warming results in a technological hiccup which turns the planet's surface into one great snowy expanse. The few remaining survivors, who are now holed up in underground bunkers trying to find a solution to the meteorological disaster, are confronted with difficult living conditions and the ever present threat of extinction.
