Crime thriller starring Kevin Bacon and Gary Oldman. Boston criminal lawyer Ben Chase (Oldman) gets his wealthy client Martin Thiel (Bacon) off a high-profile rape-murder charge by discrediting a key witness in court. After a similarly brutal murder takes place a day later, Ben discovers that Thiel was in fact guilty and, although he agrees to defend him again, the lawyer gathers new incriminating evidence to convict Thiel before the serial killer strikes again.
