Mick 'Crocodile' Dundee (Paul Hogan) is an Australian bushman assigned to take care of a beautiful New York journalist (Linda Kozlowski) on assignment in the Outback. Attraction quickly flares between them and when Mick saves the young woman from the jaws of a marauding croc, she asks him back to the States where he is an instant hit with jaded New York society.
