From the director and producer of the original Japanese world-wide horror hit 'Ringu' ('The Ring') comes another spine-tingling scare.
Hideo Nakata follows up the whole Ring Thing with something simpler but just as terrifying.
'Dark Water'(AKA 'Honogurai Mizu No Soko Kara') is an excellent example of Less Is More - why have someone with rotted features stalking your heroes around and around, when just ONE glimpse, done with the utmost knowhow, will ensure that the moment will stay with the viewer forever. Nakata does so much with so little - everyone in the film world should take note, especially Dreamworks, who are set to remake it (YAWN...)
Superbly shot, perfectly played, and disturbing with a capital BWAHHHHHH!!

Supernatural horror film directed by Hideo Nakata, who also directed the hit films 'Ring' and 'Ring 2'. Hitomi Kuroki stars as Yoshimi, a recently-divorced working mother with a history of mental imbalance. Having won the custody battle for her five-year-old daughter, Ikuko (Rio Kanno), she moves with her daughter into a new apartment. But it isn't long before strange occurrences begin: the ceiling leaks incessantly - and when the ghost of a small girl in a yellow dress starts to appear around the place, Yoshimi's already precarious grip on her sanity gives way completely.
