| DVD

In rare archive footage 'Desert Victory' tells the story of the Desert Rats. These were the heroic men of the Eighth Army who on the 23rd October 1942 left the holes that they had scratched in the rock and sand of the western desert and moved forward to destroy Rommel's advance. This remarkable film provides a fascinating insight into the tactics and personalities of the Desert Rats as they made their critical defence of Suez.

An authentic record of the North African military operations of the 8th Army, 'Desert Rats'. The battle of El Alamein in 1942 halted Rommel's eastward advance, and led to the retreat of the Afrika Korps. After months of build up, British General Montgomery began an eight-day counter-offensive, which culminated in the British capture of Tripoli and Rommel's defeat in 1943.
