Special effects abound in this Disney medieval fantasy adventure starring Peter MacNicol as Galen, an aspiring magician apprenticed to an old wizard, Ulrich (Ralph Richardson). A nearby village asks for their help when, as part of a terrible pact with a vicious dragon that has been marauding around the countryside, their King (Peter Eyre) starts sacrificing young virgins to satisfy the dragon.
