Russian post-war drama directed by Aleksey Uchitel. When ex-Russian tank commander Ignat (Vladimir Mashkov) appears at a Siberian labour camp and disturbs the peace by shifting the power of authority in his favour, the labourers begin to question the motives of this decorated war hero. Troubled by hallucinations and migraines, he carries the pains of war around with him from day to day, but his relationship with Elsa (Anjorka Strechel), a German who has been on the run since before the war, may offer him some respite.
