Biopic starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers as the King of Rock 'n' Roll, following him from his humble beginnings to his first steps into music superstardom. Growing up in a dirt-poor part of the American South, Elvis is determined to make his mark as a singer. When his raw talent is discovered by 'Colonel' Tom Parker (Randy Quaid), the young Elvis forges a new sound that conquers the world, rapidly turning him into the biggest star of the 20th century. But with his enormous fame and fortune, Elvis eventually falls prey to the lure of drink and drugs, before his humiliating death in 1977.
