1950s British romantic comedy starring Dirk Bogarde, Cecil Parker and Dennis Price. Tony Howard (Bogarde) and Anne Purves (Susan Stephen) are deeply in love and decide to get married. Unfortunately, Anne's parents are not particularly enamoured with their daughter's choice of partner and insist that Tony gets a steady job and a flat before they give their approval. Forced to slum it in an unglamorous flat with irritating neighbours and Anne's parents continuing to pry, the couple could be forgiven for losing their sense of romance, but will love conquer all?
