George 'Dr Funkenstein' Clinton is one of the founding creators of funk. Second only to James Brown the world of rap and hip-hop has heavily sampled his unique songs and he has been citied as an influence by numerous people from Prince to the Red Hot Chili Peppers. His bands have included Parliament and Funkadelic and together they have created legendary theatrical stage shows. Their concerts resembled the excitement of a circus. The band dressed in nappies wedding dresses leather jumpsuits or flowing robes and helped to create a carnival atmosphere. Taken from a concert... in Houston Texas on their first big tour the Mothership Connection is like no other show ever seen.
