Growing up on the streets of Chicago, Carmen (Aimee Garcia) spends any spare time out of college dancing in the city's underground nightclubs. Lacking self-confidence to achieve her goals, and at odds with her family's wishes for a 'normal' life, Carmen's future is set to change when her class tutor convinces her to audition for a place at a top Californian dance school. But with the pressure on, and friends and family testing her to the limits, can Carmen finally overcome her self-doubt and fears and fight to realise her goal?
