His grandson Jack is the only person who can communicate with him properly through second world war fantasies. Together they re-live Grandpas experiences in his Spitfire during The Battle of Britain. Grandpas behaviour becomes more and more erratic and when his family can no longer look after him he is moved to Twilight Villas, an old people's home run by the ferocious Miss Dandy. People only ever leave Twilight Villas in a coffin. Says the... worldly newsagent Raj. British feature-length television adaptation of the children's novel by David Walliams in which a young boy sets out to free his grandfather from the care home in which he is living out his final days when he begins to notice some sinister goings on. Jack (Kit Connor) has nothing but admiration for Grandpa (Tom Courtenay) who was once a successful World War II pilot and now suffers from Alzheimer's disease, which has prompted his family to move him into a care home ran by the intolerable Miss Dandy (Jennifer Saunders). When Jack recognises that Grandpa is miserable in his new surroundings and that Miss Dandy has unsavoury agendas of her own, Jack promises to conduct a rescue mission to get Grandpa out of the home and the two embark on a hair-raising adventure together.
