Three films from the Great Walks series made in conjunction with Ordnance Survey, all featuring classic hikes in the beautiful Lake District. In the first instalment, writer and broadcaster Eric Robson and Lakeland author and photographer Bob Allen guide the viewer through: Helvellyn by the Edges - a seven mile walk that ascends via Striding Edge and returns by Swirral Edge; Haystacks and the High Stile Ridge - an eleven mile walk starting and finishing in the beautiful village of Buttermere; and High Street from Kentmere - a twelve mile circular walk from Kentmere via Mardale Ill Bell and Harter Fell. In the second film, Cameron McNeish and Bill Birkett map out a walk that takes in the stunning natural beauty of Crinkle Crags, Bowfell, the Fairfield Horseshoe and Great Gable. In the final part, Cameron McNeish undertakes one of the most spectacular three-day high walks in Lakeland, taking in Buckbarrow, Pillar, Gable, Sca Fells and Wastwater Screes.
