A big-screen outing for the Monkees, following the cancellation of their television series. This film was the result of a collaboration between the band, one of their television directors, Bob Rafaelson, and Jack Nicholson (with whom Rafaelson went on to make 'Five Easy Pieces', 'The Postman Always Rings Twice' and 'Blood and Wine'). This surreal, psychedelic comedy musical sees the Monkees land in the middle of a World War II foxhole before emerging from Victor Mature's hair as pieces of dandruff. Peter Tork quit the band soon after the film's release.
