Luigi Falorni directs this drama based on the true story of a young female soldier who grows up in the midst of the Eritrean civil war. Despite Eritrea's ongoing war of independence against Ethiopia Awet (Letekidan Micael) has hitherto had a peaceful childhood in an orphanage run by Italian nuns. One day Awet finds out that her father a freedom fighter is still alive. He removes Awet and her sister Freweyini (Solomie Micael) from the orphanage and offers their services to the Eritrean liberation army where they come face to face with brutality fanaticism and death.
