Idealistic history teacher Richard Clark (Jon Lovitz) chooses to work at tough inner-city school Marion Barry High, rather than accept a post at a posh academy. He believes that every student has the potential to achieve, and wins the support of fellow teacher Victoria Chappell (Tia Carrere).
