Classic Hollywood drama featuring an early performance from Marilyn Monroe. Blake Washburn (Jeffrey Lynn) is a local politician embittered when he fails to get re-elected and who blames corporate interests for his fall from grace. He sets about getting his revenge via a job writing a column in his uncle's newspaper, exposing the undemocratic machinations of big business. But when his sister Iris (Marilyn Monroe) is trapped underground in a cave-in, it is one of the big businesses he has railed against that comes to her aid, throwing him into a moral dilemma.
