Hey guys this Hayward broad was a really sexy lady and whats more the talent can act! and how!!
Add a moody and exciting small combo and big band jazz sountrack and some striking black and white photography and bingo this disc is a real corker!
This is one searing drama that really proves the old adage "they dont make 'em like that anymore!"
Susan grabbed a coveted little statuette for her laudable histrionics and sent that years competition scurrying hotfoot into the undergrowth!
What's more it's a true story folks and surreal as it sometimes is shows that truth sometimes is mighty stranger than fiction......??!!
Despite some tuly harrowing scenes towards the end of this movie when little old Susie faces "justice"in a chamber fuelled by your favourite local energy supplier, this is one mean flick that will stay with you long after those credits roll.
Two thumbs up and a neat bourbon recommended
along with a giant pack of Pringles to sweeten the bitter taste those final scenes will surely induce.....

The true story of Barbara Graham, a loose-living woman who went to the gas chamber for a crime she claimed she did not commit. Barbara (Susan Hayward) comes from a broken home and drifts into a life of prostitution and petty crime. In San Francisco, she serves a prison sentence for providing false testimony. Upon her release she becomes involved with gamblers, marries the corrupt Henry Graham (Wesley Lau), and is introduced into the drug underworld. By the time she gives birth, Barbara is an addict. All her attempts to clean-up and go straight come to nothing and her downward spiral continues unabated. But is she guilty of beating an elderly widow to death? Susan Hayward won an Oscar for her compassionate portrayal of Graham.
