During his stylistically diverse career Ian Matthews has seen commercial success come and go while always bouncing back in one way or another. Matthew first gained fame as a member of folk legends Fairport Convention where he shared lead vocal duties with Sandy Denny. He remained with Fairport for two albums including What We Did on Our Holidays (considered by many to be the band's best work). He eventually formed a band of (Matthews Southern Comfort) and scored a number one U.K.
