Russian historical drama based on the life and times of 16th-century Ukrainian Cossack leader Taras Bulba. Bogdan Stupka stars as Bulba, who sends his son Andriy (Igor Petrenko) to study in Poland in order to teach him the ways of the oppressor, only to hear to his consternation that the boy has fallen in love with a Polish noblewoman.
