Russia 1010: The kingdoms of the North are governed by the sons of Grand Prince Vladimir of Kiev. His strongest son the warlord Yaroslav takes power into his own hands expanding the principality and attaching to it new lands - gathering taxes wherever he conquers. But keeping rule is easier said than done as bandit hordes occupying the woodlands along the roads and rivers are ransacking villages to recruit slaves - selling the villagers to the Bulgars for profit. Yaroslav must hunt them down and defeat them to once again restore his power over the region.

Russian war epic set at the turn of the eleventh century as Prince Yaroslav (Aleksandr Ivashkevich) attempts to bring order to a land of thieving and lawlessness. Yaroslav, son of Grand Prince Vladimir, the ruler of Kiev, is sent to rule one of the principality's most remote regions, Rostov, at a mere eleven years old. As the young prince comes of age with the aid of the local boyars, Yaroslav attempts to take firmer control of a region beset by warring tribes, forest bandits and traders selling slaves down the Volga. It is clear that it will take an exceptionally strong figure to bring order to the situation and unify the kingdom.
