The legendary comedic duo Abbott and Costello provide fairy tale fun for kids. Jack is a local farmer who is asked to buy a cow at the local market with his family's last few coins. He is tricked into swapping the cow for some beans which he takes home and plants. The classic fairytale gets the Abbott and Costello treatment as the comedy duo take on a babysitting job. Jack (Abbott) starts reading the famous legend to his charge, Donald, but stumbles over the big words. When Donald takes over, Jack falls asleep, and is transported to a magical world, in which he is the story's vine-clambering protagonist.
