Western set in the lead up to the American Civil War, starring Sterling Hayden. As the war approaches, a much needed train line is being put in place from east to west in order to transport soldiers and supplies. However, the Southerners are against the railroad and are intent on disrupting its creation. Disguised as a civilian, Captain John Nelson (Hayden) is sent to deal with the rebels by any means necessary.
