Documentary about 1960s pop singer Kathy Kirby. Born Kathleen O'Rourke in Ilford, Essex in 1940, Kirby was taken on in her teens by bandleader Bert Ambrose and began performing with his orchestra at the Ilford Palais. She went on to become the highest-paid British female singer of the swinging sixties, with a string of hit singles including 'Secret Love' and 'I Belong'. However, following the death of her manager in the early 1970s, Kathy's fortunes plummeted. Suffering personal bankruptcy and health problems, she made very few further professional appearances, and in the early 1980s she retired altogether from showbusiness. This film includes interviews with Kirby herself as well as contributions from Bruce Forsyth, Marc Almond, Vince Hill and Sandy Shaw.
