Millionaire stockbroker Hasmukh Mehta lectures his son Harish for being a lazy spendthrift and then discovers that his wife has bought a Rs. 9 lakhs necklace. He throws it off the roof of their penthouse and it lands on Meena Madhok a girl who has run away from home on her wedding night. The necklace ruins her earring as it lands on her. Mehta tells her that she can keep the necklace and also buy new earrings and now everyone thinks she's his mistress and all hell breaks loose.
