Although City of Truro is the only one of the trio of engines on this DVD to be designed by the brilliant George Jackson Churchward both the Castles and Kings display all the hallmarks established by him in the early years of the 20th century. Churchward's reforms gave the GWR locomotives greater boiler efficiency and his four-cylinder engine provided better performances at high speeds.
