Wry black comedy about a suicidal, obsessive-compulsive Japanese man Kenji (Tadanobu Asano), quietly living - and hoping to die before much longer - in Bangkok, Thailand. Into his life comes Noi (Sinitta Boonyasak), a tough and feisty bargirl with slovenly habits and a lust for life. Despite their differences, which are compounded by the fact they don't speak the language (Noi is Thai), the two develop a relationship that lifts them out of their separate lonely existences.
