Stranger in town John Smith (Bruce Willis) becomes caught up in the gang warfare that already exists between bosses Doyle and Strozzi. Smith works first for one gang, then the other, as he becomes smitten by Doyle's woman Felina. Only barman Joe Monday seems to be on Smith's side. Hollywood action director Walter Hill pays homage to Italian auteur Sergio Leone with this spaghetti western pastiche.
