Documentary about independent record shops and how changes in the industry have had an impact on them. With input from shop owners as well as musicians such as Norman Cook, Paul Weller and Johnny Marr, the programme charts the rise of independent stores from the 1960s to the '80s and their subsequent rapid decline, with vinyl giving way to CDs which, in turn, have been taken over by digital downloads, and considers what the future holds for these unique outlets.
